What Is An HND Acting And Performance?

Ok, so you haven’t been whisked off to stardom following your debut appearance in the school play. That’s not the end of the world! Maybe you just need a bit of support and encouragement to achieve your goals. You (and your liver) don’t feel up to starting a university course, but you want to gain a qualification in acting so the industry will take you seriously. You want to know how to ace auditions and stand up in front of a paying audience without your knees trembling. Have you thought about looking into an HND Acting And Performance course? If you are figuring out your career and wondering what your next steps are after school and college, it can be tricky to know what to do. An HND qualification is equivalent to the first two years of a university course, so it will stretch you and help you grow into a much more rounded actor. But how will it do this, I hear you cry?

Acting technique. You will learn so much more about the world of acting, and how to impress it with your own skills. You will be taught by an industry professional (or more than one) who can help guide you through the ins and outs of the acting world, and show you how to really make it.

Movement and voice training. Learning how to use the gifts you have been given to their fullest potential is the name of the game here. You might not think there is much to learn from this sort of training, but you’d be wrong - the effective use of movements, gestures, voice tones, accents and different timbres makes for a truly striking actor.

Stage combat and other specialist training. As you probably already know, there is a huge variety of different techniques you can employ on stage, depending on what sort of scene you are acting. Getting some top end training on how to bring these techniques into your work is invaluable.

Acting experience. There’s not a lot of point unleashing yourself into the world of acting if you have no experience with standing up in front of an audience. A good HND Acting And Performance will give you essential experience in showing off your skills in front of a paying audience.

Vocational preparation. Unlike many other types of course, an HND Acting And Performance qualification will set you up for a career straight out of the course. You will have learned so much about the industry and about yourself, that you may find yourself slipping seamlessly into your dream job once you’ve finished the course. This is not guaranteed, of course, so you can’t sue if it doesn’t happen!

An HND Acting And Performance course will give you all the tools you need - and more - the help you break your way into the acting world and live your dreams.
